Pregnant women have been assigned distant schools for B.Ed internship. The assigning work was done online.

After a long wait, B.Ed students were assigned government schools for B.Ed internship on Wednesday. Thousands of students were given far away schools as their centres for internship.  B.Ed students of entire Udaipur region have stood in opposition against this decision.

Among these students, there are pregnant ladies as well as ladies with infants. Many areas assigned are in the interior tribal areas without any mode of transportation. This is certainly a matter of concern for the students. On Thursday due to Navratri sthaapna, District education officer remained closed, hence it was decided that the B.Ed students will express their protest on Friday.

Education officer Mahipal Singh said that out of the 40 B.Ed colleges, students of 15 colleges were assigned schools for internship. For the first time, schools have been assigned online on State level and not on DEO level.

Resident of Bhinder, Puja Vaishnav, is on family way. She has been assigned a government school which is 30 kms away from Bhinder. Puja says that she had asked for a nearby region but has been given a distant area.

Krishna Meghwal from Kanod said that the school she has been assigned is 35 kms away from her home town. She also said that the school is 5 kms away from the main road for which no conveyance facility is available.

Resident of Sector 14 Hiranmagri , Priyanka Salvi has been assigned a government school in Jhadol. Going to such a distant area is a matter of concern even for the parents since they are worried about the security of their daughter. They are planning to contact the Depart of Education for this.

The internship will go on for 4 months in which the B.Ed students need to teach in schools. They must make their own transportation arrangements and will not be given a single penny for anything.  For these students, going to and fro to far off places is already a pain. Above all they need to bear the expenses of travel or even boarding and lodging which is again going to be dent on the pockets on the presently unemployed people.
