Presentation of Ahar River in International Conference
An International Seminar on ‘Pollution of Rivers and Steps for Rejuvenation of the River Yamuna’ was conducted from 18 to 20 April 2012 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi where the Green Bridge Model of Ahar River was admired by researchers and experts from national and international level.
The seminar was jointly organized by Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, ASSOCHAM India, IASRD and PSK, Moscow.
Dr. Tej Rajdan of Lake Conservation Committee and Anil Mehta, Principal of Vidya Bhavan Polytechnic College explained how and why preservation of water resources is helpful in balancing the nature’s cycle.

The Green Bridge model of Ahar River was deeply discussed in the seminar by the present researchers who also recommended similar model to be applied for Yamuna.
Paritosh Tyagi, former president of Central Pollution Control Board said that Rivers should be saved from encroachment and be common man should be involved in the process of preserving rivers.
The scientists from Russia including the chief director of PSK Dr. P.A Ivkin introduced the latest technologies to improve the conditions of rivers in the country.
Ajay Tyagi, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Environment and Forest has informed about the river conservation schemes run by Indian Government while Dr. J.K Bhasin (NIRI), Dr. R.M. Bhardwaj, Dr. D.D. Basu (Pollution Control board), R.S Tyagi (Chief Engineer, Delhi Water Board) and Prof. Vinod Tare (IIT Kanpur) explained various aspects of river conservations.
The experts have suggested applying Green Bridge Model at various places in Ahar River as this will filter the polluted water and will maintain perennial flow of water.
