Ragging at RNT Medical college | Case reaches Supreme Court

Cases of ragging seem to be continuing unabated at RNT Medical college. One such instance came to light after parents of junior students lodged a complaint at web portal of Supreme Court and directions for actions were received by college authority from the apex court.

As per information received, junior students were being ragged by a set of senior students. At this the junior students informed their parents who went ahead and lodged a complaint at web portal of Supreme Court. After this, action was taken by RNT Medical college and 9 students including 2 girls were given suspension for 3 months. Each of them was also fined Rs 25000/-.

Dr D.P.Singh, Principal RNT Medical college said that junior students did not report the case with them. They immediately took action when the Supreme Court orders were received.

Dr Singh further said that incidents of ragging are generally not reported to them and hence they are not able to take action. He urged the students to report any such matter immediately so that they may take action.
