Traffic Chaos During Rajasthan CET Exams in Udaipur

The exams saw high attendance

Exam

The traffic situation in Udaipur worsened during the CET (Common Entrance Test) examinations, causing significant delays and discomfort for residents. On October 22,2024, after the second session of the CET exam ended, a traffic jam persisted for about an hour and a half. Similar traffic conditions were reported during the CET exams held on September 27-28, 2024. The lack of effective solutions has forced residents to struggle with these traffic jams repeatedly.

Heavy Candidate Turnout

On the first day of the CET, a total of 44,762 candidates arrived in Udaipur. After the exam concluded at 6:00 PM, many rushed to the bus and railway stations to return home. This sudden influx of people at Udiapole contributed to the traffic congestion.

Affected Areas

The traffic jam at Udiapole also impacted nearby areas, including Paras Chauraha, Surajpole, Bapu Bazaar, Dehli Gate, Court Circle, Shastri Circle, Durga Nursery Chauraha, Sevashram, and Thokar Chauraha. Residents tried to navigate through the alleys while the traffic police worked to clear the congestion. Traffic returned to normal about two hours later.

High Attendance in CET Exams

The CET Senior Secondary Level examination will continue in two sessions daily until October 24. On the first day, 28,272 candidates were registered, with 23,076 appearing for the first session, resulting in an attendance rate of 81.62%. In total, 21,686 candidates were present, with 6,586 absent. The second session recorded an attendance of 76.70%.

Questions from Mewar and Other Regions

Experts noted that only one question related to Mewar was included in the exam. Other questions related to Bhilwara, Pratapgarh, and Banswara were also featured.

Challenging General Science Questions

The general science paper proved to be slightly difficult. Candidates had to solve 150 questions worth 100 marks in a total of 3 hours, with each question valued at 0.66 marks. While some questions were simple, others required more knowledge.

Focus on Current Affairs

Shubham Jain, director of the My Mission free center, highlighted that the current affairs questions were mainly related to Rajasthan and India, with a strong emphasis on topics from Rajasthan. Some questions from the CET undergraduate level last month were also seen in this examination, suggesting that similar questions may appear in upcoming phases.

Importance of the Syllabus

Questions from both phases were derived from similar parts of the syllabus, covering subjects like Mathematics, Mental Ability, Sports, General Science, the Constitution, Geography, History, Computer Science, General Hindi, and general English.
