The NEET UG 2023 results announced on Tuesday 14 June, revealed a stellar performance by students of Rajasthan. Nine (9%) percent of the 11,45,976 students who qualified in NEET UG 2023 are from Rajasthan. In terms of absolute numbers, the desert state ranks third, following Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, for having the highest number of qualified students. Interestingly, Rajasthan boasts a remarkable strike rate of 68.7%, the highest among the top 10 states (qualified candidates) across India. Delhi however tops the qualification percentage with 73%.
A total of 11,45,976 candidates qualified in NEET UG 2023. Rajasthan's performance of 68.7% beats the national average of 56.21%.
“It shows the combined impact of quality education being given at schools and at coaching institutes. The figures mean that the state will produce the third highest number of doctors. Our state has open medical colleges in almost every district means that more seats for local students which would be like a booster to the medical sector in the state.” - Damodar Goyal, Educationist (to ToI).
Nevertheless, while the data does not specify education boards, it is evident that students studying in schools affiliated with the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) have made a significant contribution.
As per the data from NTA, a total of 20,38,596 candidates appeared across 4,097 centres, which included 14 cities outside India. The examination was held on 7 May 2023. The examinations outside India were conducted in Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore along with Dubai, and Kuwait City, as per NTA. Of those candidates who appeared for the examination, 20,36,316 were Indian Nationals, 852 were NRIs and 642 were OCIs. 786 foreigners also appeared for NEET 2023. The success rate of 56.21% in 2023 was similar to the success rate in 2022, which was 56.27%. In the NEET UG 2023 results, percentage of qualified students as per category was as follows:

As per NTA, the Result of NEET (UG) - 2023 may be utilized by other Entities of Central and State Governments, in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria / other norms /applicable regulations/guidelines/ rules. The result data will also be utilized for B.Sc. (H) Nursing courses in accordance with their respective eligibility criteria / other norms /applicable regulations/guidelines/ rules. The NEET (UG) – 2023 data will also be used for admissions to BVSc & AH courses under the 15% quota of VCI in recognized Veterinary Colleges.
