The Education Department of Rajasthan has directed principals of PM SHRI schools to protect students from the harmful effects of the internet. At a recent capacity-building workshop, officials emphasized that these schools should prioritize skill-based education.
Avichal Chaturvedi, State Project Director and Commissioner of the Rajasthan School Education Council (RSEC), highlighted the crucial role of teachers in shielding children from negative online content, which could threaten their future. He urged teachers to adopt innovative and creative approaches to bring positive changes in schools.
Rajasthan is leading the country with the highest number of PM SHRI schools. These schools are part of a national initiative to upgrade government schools with modern facilities. Each selected school receives a grant of Rs 2 crore for improvements. The funds are used for civil work, like building or renovating school infrastructure, and for innovative projects aimed at improving education quality.
In the first phase of this project, 402 schools were selected in Rajasthan. In the second phase, 237 more schools were added, bringing the total to 639 schools. These schools serve over 3.27 lakh students across the state. The goal of the initiative is to provide better learning environments and focus on skill-based education to prepare students for the future.
