Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Participates in BN Sansthan Udaipur's 104th Foundation Day
Udaipur, Jan 02, 2026: "The foundation of a strong education system is the teacher. Teachers should be viewed with respect in society, because history bears witness that teachers have often laid the foundation for social changes", said Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minister of India. He added, "One who knows how to bow down also knows how to rise up. By giving respect to education, education itself becomes synonymous with development".
The Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh addressed the gathering at Udaipur, where he attended the 104th Foundation day event of the Bhupal Nobles' Sansthan of Udaipur, as the Chief Guest. Singh said that education is not merely a means of acquiring knowledge, but a powerful foundation for building society, the nation, and future generations.

104th Foundation Day of BN Sansthan, Udaipur
The 104th Foundation of the Bhupal Nobles' Sansthan Udaipur was celebrated on January 2, 2025, under the auspices of Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh, Member of Parliament Vishwaraj Singh Mewar and other dignitaries from the academic and political circles.

The event began with Prof Sanagdevot, Exec Chairman of BN Sansthan, welcoming the guests to the event. Addressing the audience, Prof Sarangevot highlighted the ongoing transformation in warfare from traditional hardware to software, emphasizing the rising importance of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. He noted that India has transitioned from an importer to an exporter of military equipment. This shift is not just about military expansion; it reflects a commitment to a self-reliant India, fostering innovation, research, and employment for the youth. Prof. Sarangdevot expressed gratitude to those who contributed to the institution's success and reaffirmed its dedication to national service and character development through education.
Sainik School at Bhupal Nobles'
Prof Sarangdevot placed a demand before the Defence Minister, that of opening a Sainik School at the BN Sansthan. This, he said, will instill the emotional legacy in the youth. He added that this institution, once established, shall facilitate cultivating values of discipline, leadership and natoinal service among the youth, fostering a generation of dedicated and capable citizens. The Defence Minister took cogniscance of the application that was made already and said that he will make a personal effort in this direction.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who was the Chief Guest at the event, paid homage to Maharana Bhupal Singh by laying floral tributes to the statue of the Maharana at the BN University campus. He was welcomed with a guard of honour by the NCC Cadets of the University.


In his address, the Defence Minister emphasized that education is not merely knowledge acquisition but serves as an important foundation for society and future generations. He emphasized on instilling righteousness, defining education as responsibility and charracter development rather than solely a means to employment. He added that true success comes from an ego-free mind, which fosters happiness and bliss.

He discussed the New Education Policy 2020 as a harmonious blend of traditional and modern educational approaches, aiming to create a thoughtful and conscientious generation equipped to address societal challenges. Furthermore, Rajnath Singh underscored the significance of educational institutions in fostering self-reliance and recalled Maharana Bhupal Singh’s contributions to education and literacy. In light of the fourth industrial revolution, Singh called for the integration of innovation and research in education, urging students to adopt a continuous learning approach and go hand-in-glove with innovation.

Maharana Vishwaraj Singh Mewar, Chief Patron and President of the BN Sansthan, praised the significant role of Maharana Bhupal Singh in founding the educational institution, emphasizing his promotion of modern education and innovative reforms including skill-based, women's, health, and agriculture education, along with scholarships. He noted Bhupal Singh's foresight in recognizing the need for educational reforms to inspire social change and called for honoring such influential figures.
MP Manna Lal Rawat underscored the esteemed history of Mewar, highlighting the region's longstanding commitment to education and culture, which continues to thrive in current educational efforts. Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi praised the efforts of the BN Sansthan in bilding a generation dedicated to the nation, through its continuous efforts in the field of education. Special Guest and Educationist Anil Singh said that strong leadership and a clear vision strengthen both the security and development of the country.
Lifetime Achievement Awards
Managing Director Mohabbat Singh Rathore informed that 102-year-old Uday Singh Purawat, Tej Singh Shaktawat, Rawat Manohar Singh Krishnawat, Gunwant Singh Jhala, Pradeep Singh Sangawat, Krishna Singh Sarangdevot, Chandragupta Singh Chauhan, and Lal Singh Jhala were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for their contribution to the development of the institution, while Kartiki Singh Shaktawat and Apurvi Chandela were awarded the BN Pride Award for their outstanding achievements in sports. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh descended from the stage to personally honour Uday Singh Purawat with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mohabbat Singh also informed that the Defence Minister inaugurated the Fateh Art Gallery on the occasion. The Fateh Art Gallery, displays photographs and historical information related to Maharana Fateh Singh.
