Rockwoods High School at Chitrakoot Nagar, Udaipur has become the first private school of Udaipur to offer international board.

The school is now awarded Cambridge International School status by Cambridge International Examinations and is now approved to offer Cambridge programmes and qualifications, including Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Secondary 1. However, CBSE board will also remain an option for students who want to pursue it.

Michael O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Cambridge International Examinations, said “We are delighted to announce that Rockwoods High School has joined our global community of Cambridge schools. We look forward to a long and productive relationship which will be of great benefit to learners throughout the region.”

Cambridge programmes and qualifications are recognized and valued by universities and employers around the world. Cambridge helps schools deliver the best education possible by providing comprehensive support, including teacher training, classroom resources and membership of a global learning community.

Cambridge programmes and qualifications are taught in more than 10 000 schools in over 160 countries.

“From infrastructural facilities to teaching methodologies, CIE standards are very different, they are not just designed with international standard but also with novel learning approach. Here students are taught to focus on “Why and How” which makes them think and develop an informed curiosity” said Vikramjeet Singh of Rockwoods High School.

“Following strict criteria, the faculties also get special training to adapt CIE method of teaching; every class will not have more than 25 students. “CIE emphasize on nurturing lives of students without pressurizing them, the academic curriculum is designed in a way that student will enjoy learning and his enthusiasm will be escalated throughout the course” says Vikramjeet.

Ashish Bhatnagar, Dean at Rockwoods High School who has worked with CIE schools in leadership positions for over 15 years in Saudi Arabia, India and South-central African country Malawi, said “We always felt that there is a vacuum in the field of international education in Udaipur with a wider and broader perspective for school students which can make them Confident, Responsible, Reflective, Innovative and Engaged. We strongly feel that this will fill the gap in the field of education which has been there for quite long. This programme is widely recognized by Indian Universities and AIU”.

The school administration informed that the, first new batch will start from the next session and admission process will begin from 15 Jan 2016 at Rockwoods High School.
