Weeks after raising concerns about inadequate study materials following the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) last year, students at various colleges under Rajasthan University (RU) have now taken to the streets. They are demanding better resources and facilities from their college administrations.
A group of students from Maharaja College staged a protest over poor facilities. Their complaints include a shortage of textbooks and irregular class schedules. Students claim that the current library resources are insufficient, with textbooks only available for a limited number of students. As a result, many are forced to rely on outdated materials not aligned with the new NEP syllabus.
Several students from Commerce College have announced plans for a protest of their own to address these issues. They argue that despite the NEP being in effect for over a year, libraries still lack the required number of textbooks for the updated syllabus. The available books are unable to meet the demand of the students, who are often left without proper study materials.
Additionally, students report that regular classes have not yet resumed at many colleges, adding to their frustrations. The lack of timely and effective educational resources continues to be a major concern for students across Rajasthan University.
