-The reductions have been stated for 9th to 12th standard.

-The fee structure includes only "tuition fees".

The state government has finally released the criteria for the fee structure for private schools of both Rajasthan Board and CBSE.

Based on the report issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education, the fees charged for 9th to 12th standards will be in accordance with the portion of syllabus reduced for this academic year. As per this directive, private schools under Rajasthan Board will reduce 40 percent of the tuition fee and CBSE will reduce 30 percent of the tuition fee.

The directive also states that any parent unable to pay the fees due to economic reasons can be given relaxation by the panel set up at the school level.

It may be noted that the fee structure includes only ‘tuition’ fee. No other charges like laboratory, sports, library or development fee or boarding charges will be applicable for this academic session as these facilities are not being provided in the pandemic times. The order also says that the syllabus already covered by the schools online will be considered as “capacity building” and for this schools can charge 60 percent of the tuition fee with the consent of the parents. The fees can be paid in instalments.

The syllabus for classes 1st to 8th has not yet been decided. Hence the fee structure will be decided post the syllabus decision. No school is supposed to change the uniform and no increase in the fee structure is allowed as per the directives. Since schools are about to open, the students will attend school only after the consent of parents, those wishing to continue online will continue with the online sessions. Any student if at all continues to join the school, and wishes to avail school transport will have to pay transportation charges as per last year. No hike in transportation fees this year.
