Udaipur, July 1, 2025 - The Education Department has released the Shivira Panchang (academic calendar) for the 2025-26 academic session. According to the calendar, classes in the academic session would be held for 235 days - from July 1, 2025 to May 16, 2026. During this new session, there will be holidays for 39 different festivals plus schools will remain closed on 46 public holidays and 52 Sundays. 

According to information shared by Director of Education Sitaram Jat, regular classes and student attendance will start from the first day of the new session, which is July 1. Schools will close for winter vacation after the half-yearly exams,.

• Academic Session Duration: July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026
• Regular Classes and Attendance: Begin from July 1, 2025
• Mid-term Break: October 16 - October 27, 2025
• Half-Yearly Exams: Scheduled from December 12 to 24, 2025
• Winter Vacation: From December 25, 2025 to January 5, 2026
• Summer Vacation: From May 17 to June 30, 2026

Admission Deadlines

• Final date for admission to Grades 9-12: July 31, 2025
• First phase of the admission drive (Praveshotsav): July 1 to July 16

After annual exams and Board exams, students will be granted provisional admission to the next grade. All holidays declared by the Central and State Governments will be observed in schools.

Special Notes

• Entry Age for Grade 1: As per the revised State Government provision, a child must be at least 6 years old and less than 7 years old at the time of admission.
• Opening and closing ceremonies of the academic year (Sesharambh and Seshant Vakpeeth) must be held within the dates prescribed in the Shivira Panchang.
