Udaipur, April 16, 2025 - The traditional manual attendance system in government schools in Rajasthan is being replaced with an online attendance system. A dedicated Shikshak App has been developed for this purpose, which every teacher is required to download on their mobile devices.

According to Sitaram Jat, the Director of Secondary Education, after the launch of the initiative by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma during the Mukhyamantri Shikshit Rajasthan Abhiyan, instructions have been issued to implement the system in all government schools across the State.

Before State-wide implementation, a pilot project was conducted over three months in selected schools, including 134 Swami Vivekananda Model Schools and 205 Mahatma Gandhi Government Higher Secondary Schools, plus 18 schools in Udaipur. Attendance was recorded through the app in these schools. Following the success of the pilot, orders were issued on April 12 to implement the system fully.

Chief District Education Officer (CDEO) Mahendra Kumar Jain shared that the system will be implemented in all schools in Udaipur. The responsibility for monitoring the implementation has been assigned to the Chief Block Education Officer (CBEO). It is expected that the district will achieve full implementation within the next two to three days.

Attendance will now be taken through the app during the morning assembly to avoid use of mobile phones in classrooms. All students' names will be recorded in the app. Class teachers and other subject teachers will have access to the complete list of students according to their classes.

Only absent students will have to be marked manually, while the attendance of present students will be automatically updated on the app.
