A two day national seminar on “Sustainable Development of Industrial Mineral with special reference to Cement Grade, limestone in Western India” started today at College of Science M.L.S.U.
The Chief Guest of the program Prof .I.V Trivedi, Vice-chancellor MLSU discussed various methods for the optimum utilization of scarce resources with increasing demand. He also said that there should be collaboration between universities and industries to decide what kind of scientists they need and also stressed that the students should be given more practical exposure.
Arya Sharma, the guest of honor suggested that a Geological Scientist should be appointed at the district level to keep a check on illegal mining in villages and teach villagers how to make optimum utilization of resources.
Prof. Pandya discussed ways to discover undiscovered minerals in his speech and said that a system should be developed to conduct a research on this. He also told about the major hurdles related to mineral industry basically question of Eco Friendly Mining, Mafia and Underworld threat to miners, Conservation of minerals and Planning of mineral resources for 50 years.
PC Auditchya, the Secretary of the Seminar and also Secretary GEO Scientist Society of Rajasthan informed that the seminar was attended by 125 participants on the 1st day including the scientists from Rajasthan and various other states. 35 papers were presented in the Seminar.
