St. Anthony Students Won City Finals of Limca Book Quiz
The City of Lakes unearthed its genius under the banner of the esteemed Limca Book of Records 2012 Quiz Contest in a competition that was held today at Rockwood High School.
The City of Lakes unearthed its genius under the banner of the esteemed Limca Book of Records 2012 Quiz Contest in a competition that was held today at Rockwood High School.
Two of the students, Subrat Singh Balot and Akash Jain of St. Anthony’s School triumphed in the city finals and made it into the semi-finals where 80 schools will clash to prevail.
St. Gregorios remained the first runner up while St.Mary’s Convent turned out as second runner up. 248 students of 54 schools took part in the quiz; 6 schools managed to reach the finals including St. Anthony; St Mary’s, Fatehpura; Witty International and St. Mary’s Convent (Titardi).
The winning team was honored by Shirikesh, Area Sales Manager, Coca Cola Beverage Pvt. Ltd. (India). Limca Book of Record holder Tarun Kumar was also present on the occasion. Tarun holds the record of using one pen for the last 25 years.
Shirikesh told that 4000 schools from all over India participated in the competition. The multicity contest was started in association with Derek O’ Brien and Associates
The Quiz is divided into East, West, North and South zones. Started from July 2012, the Limca Book of Record 2012 Quiz Contest will continue till Dec 2012 with inter-school, semi finals and national finals rounds included.
The final round will be hosted by Derek O’ Brien himself.
