State Science Seminar: A Golden Chance for School Students

To inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking National Science Centre, Delhi in association of State Education Authorities of India is conducting the State Science Seminar for high school students of class 8th to class 10th.

 

To inculcate a spirit of scientific enquiry and analytical thinking National Science Centre, Delhi in association of State Education Authorities of India is conducting the State Science Seminar for high school students of class 8th to class 10th.

State Science Seminar: A Golden Chance for School StudentsOne winner from each state and union territory is eligible for National Level Competition which will be held at National Science Centre, Delhi on September 30, 2011.

The topic of the seminar is Chemistry for Human Welfare: Promises and Concerns. Winners will receive scholarship for one year (Rs. 2000/- per month) and other special prizes including Rs.1000 per month for top 9 winners and books and science kits for all the participants of seminar.

The grading system is based on 4 different aspects:

1. Scientific content in presentation

2. Novelty in use of Visuals

3. Fluency in speech

4. Ability to answer questions ( Written and Oral tests)

Marks will be given out of 40; 15, 25, 10, 10 respectively.

Duration of Presentation:

The participants shall make his/her presentation on the given topic for maximum duration of 6 minutes. This will be followed by a two minute question-answer session on the same topic with the judges.

Supporting Visuals

Posters, charts, slides (35mm), overhead projection transparencies or computer based static slides (compatible to Windows M.S Office 2007 in pps. or ppt. format) restricted to 5 nos. 3d models, animations, pop-ups, rollovers, videos and films are not allowed.
