Experts belonging to diverse fields were present at the event to help guide students who were keen to know about various professional opportunities after attaining their academic qualifications.
The highly qualified team of counselors consisted of Dr. Vineet Baya – founder PT Education, Ruksana Sabeelwala- lecturer communication skills, department of humanity and social science, Gazanfar Ali – Director Iqra Education solutions, M.R Sehgal – director IMHCU and Shabbir Hussain R.V- Director Phoenix College. Shabbir Hussain Nasir – Convener, Abid Adeeb – President of Dawoodi Bohra Jamat (youth) and Retd.Commander Mansoor Ali Bohra were also among the personalities present at the event, along with all of the cabinet members of SWS. The session commenced with a welcome speech by Ali Asghar – secretary of Library, followed by a short introductory speech by Gazanfar Ali, an alumni of IIT. Although the community hall did not host as many guests as expected, there were still about 70-100 students who enjoyed sessions from some of the most accomplished experts from various fields. So what was the outcome of the counseling? The mentality that science students get the highest percentage is slowly coming to an end, and now people are finally accepting that commerce students score higher. Parents have also started supporting the career choices made by their children. As said by Dr. Vineet Baya during the session, “There are so many options than choosing ‘vanilla flavored’ career.” The program was enjoyed by the attendees who also discussed their queries and confusions with the counselors present. The session which started at 10am went on to last for the next 2 hours. Shabbir Hussain Nasir said that SWS has a history of conducting programs beneficial for students and society. He also thanked all counselors, SWS cabinet members and audience present at today’s event. SWS is a welfare organization founded and managed by students of bohra community, mostly under the 25-year-old age group.
