From the next academic year, the summer holidays will reduce by one week. Now, the schools will reopen from 23^rd June as against 1^st July previously. Likewise, the winter holidays will increase by 1 week.

State Minister Vasudev Devnani told the media on Saturday that this is a step taken in respect to the problems suffered by children during the chilled weather. District collector had to increase holidays during the time of winters.

He further said that this exercise is taken to bring the state’s school in accordance with the calender of CBSE schools.

On the other hand, the teachers are not in the favor of schools commencing from 23^rd June saying that there is high temperatures during that time and instead to increase the number of school days before the school closes in May.
