Symposium on ‘Concrete Today And Beyond’

The Civil Engineering Department, CTAE witnessed the inaugural function of ICI Student Chapter (Indian Concrete Institute) on 24th March, 2012. The inauguration was comprised of a seminar named ‘BETONTECHNIK’ on the topic ‘Concrete Today and Beyond’. The seminar was aimed to provide information on new ideas regarding the latest trends in the present concrete industry and intended to deliver a scan of development activities in the process design and construction practices of concrete.

The event started with the welcoming address by Dr. Ravi K. Sharma, Head, Civil Engineering Department, CTAE followed by the blessings of Prof. R.K. Aeron and words by Guest of Honor Dr. N.S. Rathore, Dean, CTAE.

The key note for the event was delivered by the Chief Guest of the event, Prof. B. Bhattacharya, Civil Engineering Department, IIT, Delhi on ‘Concrete Today and Beyond’ in which he acquainted the students with the advancements in Concrete Design and Technology and Micro Structure Modeling of Concrete and futuristic approach for the same.

Student’s talent inquest was done by a Poster-Making competition and was concluded with the presentations by students on various aspects of concrete. Kamal Singh and Gajendra Singh Parmar from B.E. Branch, III Yr., CTAE won top two positions respectively.

The event was organized by the Civil Engineering, CTAE students. Student members along with students of Pacific Institute of Technology have garnished an invaluable experience and profound knowledge during this conference. The interaction and exchange of ideas about innovative technologies and practices have enhanced the technical knowledge of students present.
