Udaipur, December 25,2024 - Higher Education Minister Govi Chezhiaan has requested the Union government to reschedule the UGC-NET exam, scheduled between January 3 and 16, 2025.

The Minister highlighted that the exam coincides with Pongal, Tamil Nadu's major harvest festival, celebrated from January 14 to 16. He expressed concerns about how the festive preparations would affect students' focus on the exam.

He also mentioned that the Chartered Accountants (CA) Foundation examination for January 2025 was rescheduled earlier due to Pongal. This adjustment was made after a request from S. Venkatesan, Lok Sabha MP from Tamil Nadu.

The Minister urged similar consideration for the UGC-NET exam to ensure students can fully participate in the celebrations without academic disruption.
