Team of Singhania University grabs 2nd position in Techfest, Mumbai

In an initiative of IIT Bombay under the banner of Techfest 2012-13; team of 26 students of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur led by Viral Shah stood second in a challenge titled ‘Green Campus Challenge’.

In an initiative of IIT Bombay under the banner of Techfest 2012-13; team of 26 students of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur led by Viral Shah stood second in a challenge titled ‘Green Campus Challenge’.
Green Campus Challenge was presented in order to see how students can make their own college campus green. In total, 110 teams from all over India participated in the event where 12 teams were selected for preliminaries.
Teams in prelims were selected on the basis of the ‘green’ tasks done out of total 100 tasks in categories including Energy, Climate & Air, Sustainability, Social Outreach, Green, Food, Waste, Bio Diversity & Land Management, Social Media & Collaboration, Water and Design & Creatives.
The team of SPSU did 92 tasks and stood 2nd in prelims, where they were selected for final presentation in Mumbai on 5th Jan, 2012. Team of VIT stood 1st with 98 tasks done.
In final presentation, SPSU scored 70/100 and won Rs. 25,000 cash prize and certificates. Where VIT remained on 1st position in Finals too, bagging Rs. 30,000 in cash. The total prizes in the event were worth Rs. 2.5 lacs.
