Udaipur division stood last amongst the seven divisional headquarters in terms of learning outcomes measured for reading, comprehension and mathematics. This was reported in the Annual Status of Education Report-2016 released last week.
As per the report, for mathematics, only 22% of grade VI students in Udaipur division could solve simple division problems. The highest learning outcome was for Bharatpur division that recorded 57.5% as being able to solve the problem. Average for Rajasthan state was 39.7% and the state ranked in the list of last 10 states.
In terms of comprehension, only 43.3% students of grade III could read texts meant for grade I students making it amongst the worst learning outcomes across the nation. Jaipur and Bikaner recorded 66.1% and 66.6% on this account.
Udaipur division comprises of tribal belt including Banswara, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand and Udaipur districts.
