Mahe Noor of Mahawat Wadi will pursue Bachelor's degree in International Relations at Queen Mary University of London
Udaipur, September 30, 2024 - Mahe Noor Khan, a resident of Mahawat Wadi, Udaipur, has been awarded the prestigious Swami Vivekanand Scholarship for Academic Excellence by the government of Rajasthan. This remarkable achievement will enable her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in International Relations at Queen Mary University of London which ranks 120th in the world.
Aspiring to represent India at the United Nations, Mahe Noor’s studies will focus on "India's Strategic Balancing: Countering China's Belt and Road Initiative in the Indo-Pacific," a topic of significant global relevance. The Rajasthan government has funded her tuition fees for three years, amounting to approximately Rs 1.10 crore. In addition, she will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1 lakh, totalling Rs 36 lakh, to cover her living and food expenses.
Mahe Noor comes from a humble background. Her father, Moin Khan, is a small-time businessman and her mother Nausheen Khan a housewife. Mahe Noor worked online to support her family while excelling academically. She studied up to Grade 10 at Vision Academy School and completed her Grade 12 from St. Mary’s School, where she scored 80% in her Board exams.
"I have always been interested in India's growing importance on the world stage, especially after recent events like Ukraine asking India to mediate in the war,” says Mahe Noor. “The role of the Indian diaspora in building the country’s soft power and brand has always inspired me," she adds.
