Udaipur Innovators to make project on Indian Traffic Solution
Traffic Jam Controller Project designed by the two students of Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS) Udaipur has been selected for Research and Analysis by Department of Science and Technology Government of India, for further expansion.
Rajkumar Suthar and Arpit Siyal, both are former GITS students and they will work on Traffic Jam Using P.L.C and SCADA, for this the students have been provided funds of Rs. 4.25 lakhs. It has also been approved by Central Government. The project was accepted through a program Techno-Entrepreneurship and Project Program (PEPP) in CTAE.

Development and Research on the project will be done under the direction of Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore, Dean of CTAE and Dr. Shailendra Mohan Mathur, Coordinator and Associate Professor at CTAE.
Rajkumar (23) and Arpit (23) are currently working on this project and left their full time IT jobs in a Bangalore based company. “We have 10 months to prove it, and we are going to make it big and effective. We are much confident about it,” says Rajkumar in a conversation with UT.
Record Maintenance of Every Vehicle
A special sensor will be installed at every toll tax collection centers at highways to scan number plates of each vehicle passing through it. This will help to make a record of vehicles passed from the center. If any vehicle is used in committing crime in the city, it can be easily traced through the sensor. The basic structure of the project is ready and work has to start on final structure.
How this project will work
The polls equipped with sensors are installed at every start and end points of highway. As sensor keeps all information about vehicle passing from its range and it is also connected to the control room. Further the control room has SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and PLC (programmable logic controller) both are again connected with the sensor. This gives accurate and detail information to the control room.
The project is also able to deal with the common problem of managing the one-way traffic, especially places with high tourist volumes.
Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore has praised the project and the concept developers. He is optimistic with the output of the project which will ease the biggest and one of the most common problems India is facing being the country with largest road network.
