5 students from Techno NJR Institute of Technology have been assigned work order by the government. These 5 brilliant students bagged second position in Digi-fest Hackathon-2017. These students made an app for farmers through which farmers can detect the kind of disease that hits the crops. The app has a special technology for detecting diseases in crops.

These 5 students are Hritvik Joshi, Yash Kothari, Bhavya Dave, Vivek Ghanchi and Vansh Soni. Their mentor will be Ramesh Sharma, Assistant Director of Information and Technology. Out of the three teams which got selected in Hackathon-2017, this was the only team from Rajasthan.

The app “Farmer Friend” needs to be activated while in the field where the crop stands. A special camera in the app will analyse the crop disease and even give solutions for rectification. The app is also equipped with phone numbers of the nearest agriculture centre. All information regarding sowing and harvesting of crops is available on this “Farmer Friend” app. Farmers can also find out the market cost and support price of their crops.

Government has already assigned work orders for these students from Techno NJR Institute. A cash prize of 10 lakh rupees has been projected for these students and they will get to work with government for the development of this project.

As per the government’s work order, the students will have to prepare this app in 6 months’ time. The project will be completed with the assistance of IT department of Udaipur region. The rights of this app will be with these 5 students and DOIT department.  The efforts of these 5 students received applause from the Director of Techno NJR Institute. He said that entrepreneurship is the best way to succeed in life. Government is giving enough support and students are making use of the facilities provided by government. This is a good indication for industrial future of India.
