Udaipur to be part of World Record Hackathon
Udaipur has been identified as one of the centre nationally to host the Smart India Hackathon on April 1 and April 2nd. Over 10,000 students (as part of 1266 teams) will be participating in the non-stop 36 hour hackathon all over the country.
Udaipur has been identified as one of the centre nationally to host the Smart India Hackathon on April 1 and April 2nd. Over 10,000 students (as part of 1266 teams) will be participating in the non-stop 36 hour hackathon all over the country.
The students will be working on 598 problems associated with 29 different Central Government departments and will aim at arriving at solutions at the end of 36 hours. Ministry of Human Resource Development has asked the Engineering students to prepare digital products in Smart India Hackathon programme for arriving at solutions to problems.
Udaipur is one of the 26 centres identified all over India for hosting the hackathon. Udaipur will play host to the problems associated with Railways Department. 484 students from all over the country will come to Udaipur for finding solutions to the department problems including ticketing system, customer service etc.
Every team has 6 students and 2 mentors. The teams will start working on the problem at 8 am on April 1 and will end at 8 pm on April 2. The winning team will be awarded with Rs 1 lakh and the first and second runners up will be awarded Rs 75000 and Rs 50000 in prize money.
This is supposed to be world’s biggest hackathon and efforts are also being made to get it registered in Guiness Book of World Records.
