At the Rising Rajasthan Education Pre-Summit held on November 6, 2024 in Jaipur, Rajasthan government secured agreements with various industrialists for investments in the education sector, totaling Rs 28,050.62 crore. This substantial funding aims to drive transformative changes across school education, higher education, and technical education in the state.

Major Focus on Higher and Technical Education

According to the MoU details, the largest share of investment Rs 23,871.87 crore—will be directed towards higher and technical education. In this sector, 425 MoUs have been signed, underscoring strong industrial interest and commitment. This investment is expected to foster improvements in the quality and infrastructure of higher education institutions across Rajasthan.

Investment in School Education

The school education sector will receive Rs 2,043.75 crore from the agreements signed. A total of 61 MoUs were finalized for this purpose, making school education the second-highest priority in terms of investment. The funds will be used to improve infrastructure and basic facilities, especially in underserved regions.

Development Plan for Udaipur's Schools

In line with this initiative, Udaipur's school education department has devised a plan to enhance basic facilities in local schools. The department aims to use 10% of the total investment to improve the infrastructure of schools across the district, with a focus on schools in tribal areas to boost education quality in the long term.

Focus on Girls’ Schools in Phase One

As per departmental sources, the first phase of the project will prioritize girls' schools in Udaipur. Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, a listing of required facilities is underway for 88 girls' schools in the district. The department will soon receive detailed information about these needs, facilitating swift action. Additional Project Coordinator Virendra Yadav confirmed that proposals from Udaipur have been submitted, and initial efforts will concentrate on improving girls' education.

Limited Interest in Skill Development

While the education summit witnessed substantial commitments in education, skill entrepreneurship received comparatively low investment, with only Rs 30 crore allocated through MoUs. This sector saw the least interest among investors, highlighting an area with potential for further focus.
