BN University becomes the 7th University in Udaipur to get this recognition and the fourth Private University in Udaipur to get classification under UGC 2(f)
Degree granted by BN University will be at par with other National Universities and will be recognised internationally.
In a significant achievement for Udaipur, the Bhupal Nobles University of Udaipur has been granted the UGC 2(f) category status. With this recognition, the BN University becomes the fourth Private University of Udaipur to get this classification. There are currently 56 Universities in Rajasthan that are included in the UGC 2(f) category. Currently, Mohan Lal Sukhadi University and Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology are the two state Universities, Sir Padmapat Singhania University, Pacific University, Geetanjali University are the three Private Universities and Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth is the only one Deemed University in Udaipur under UGC Section 2(f).
What does the 2(f) status imply for BN University
Elevation of the BN University to UGC 2(f) category augurs well for students as well as for the academicians at the University. As per the UGC directives and guidelines, name of a University is included in this list after receipt of the University Act as passed by the Parliament/State Legislature. The University Grants Commission (UGC) provides financial assistance to eligible colleges, which are included under Section 2(f).
Chairperson of BN University, Pradeep Singh Singholi said that this is a significant achievement for BN University. The Degree granted by the BN University is now at par with other such Universities in India and will be recognised both at National as well as International level. Naresh Bahadur, President of of BN University said that the University, after inclusion under Section 2(f) will be eligible for research projects and research grants. He added that this will also permit the University to be ranked at National level. He further informed that the Agriculture Faculty at BN University will also be getting recognition from the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) shortly.
Parbat Singh Rathore, the Registrar of BN University informed that inclusion in the UGC 2(f) category will allow the University to add more courses to its bouquet of offerings. National level Research Projects will be available for both students and faculty members interested in Research and will also open opportunities for participation in national and international level seminars.
The Vidya Prachirini Sabha and Bhupal Nobles Sansthan, the two bodies managing the BN University are also celebrating their centenary year in 2022, and this achievement comes at a opportune time.
