After the ban on Live Animal Dissection by the University Grant Commission (UGC), all the colleges of the city have been instructed to completely adopt Digital Dissection which will display the process on computer to the students.

This newly introduced law will help save the lives of millions of animals who are used for the process, out of which many are said to be on the verge of extinction; students of science are in uncertainty about the effectiveness of the new technology and clearing of their concepts.

Chaya Bhatnagar, Assistant Professor (Geology) at College of Science said that “as per the past experiences with this teaching methodology, I feel it is necessary to provide practical knowledge to students .”

Moreover, the College of Science is not also prepared for adopting the Digital Dissection due to lack of infrastructure. The law was first introduced in 2010 by UGC for stopping all autopsies for school level students.
