Students must understand the Indian culture and the diversities.

The checklist of locations launched by the Ministry of Tourism contains vacationer spots.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked the colleges to organise student trips to various Indian locations. The aim is to promote Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.  UGC said that students can learn about the various destinations digitally till the time the Covid restrictions are lifted fully.

UGC also attached a list of 100 destinations released by the Ministry of Tourism. As per UGC, “Educational institutions are required to send students under EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Programme to study the destinations and their history, scientific contributions, traditions, indigenous literature and knowledge”.

The Commission also said that students must be encouraged to learn about these destinations and a report of activities must be sent to the Ministry of Education. In the list of destinations, monuments of Delhi, Cellular jail in Andaman and Gateway of India have been excluded.

Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat project aims to promote mutual understanding and interaction between people of different states and UTs in the country.
