University Chancellors' Conference Starts
Margaret Alawa, Governor of Rajasthan inaugurated the conference of Vice Chancellors’ of South Asian Countries at Durbar Hall today. The two day conference is organized by Mohanlal Sukhadia University.

55 Vice Chancellors from seven countries are participating in the conference and will discuss on the subject – Nurturing New Avenues in University Education in South Asia: Challenges and Prospects.
Margaret Alawa, Governor of Rajasthan, Arvind Singh Mewar, President of Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation, Mohammad Hadi Hedayati, Vice Chancellor of Kabul University, H.K Mehta, Vice President Human Resource Department of Hindustan Zinc Limited are among the chief guests of today’s program.
Professor I.V Trivedi, Vice Chancellor of MLSU was also present on the stage.
In her thought provoking address to the guests, Margaret Alawa said that education based on high responsive moral is required in the historically analogous countries of South Asia who are struggling with the communal violence presently.
Alawa said that the only motive behind the conference is to lower the distances between all the universities of SAARC nations and to control the pressure over these universities. She said that internet is the most powerful medium to strengthen the distance education.
Giving example of World War-II rivals France and Germany who came together for development, Alawa said, “SAARC nations should also leave the competition aside and work together for prosperity and development.”
Prof. I.V Trivedi in his welcome note greeted all present guests and anticipated that the conference will be advantageous for overall development of SAARC.
Arvind Singh Mewar expressed the need of adequate research and resources in Mewar to make strong educational presence.
Mohammad Hadi Hedayati informed about the educational challenges Kabul University is facing presently, whereas, H.K Mehta of Hindustan Zinc emphasized on strong educational association.
