The Bar Council of India and Legal Education Committee have approved the LLB and BA-LLB courses at the College of Law, MLSU for permanent affiliations. The Bar Council will accordingly be inspecting the college very soon as a part of their formal inspection.

The affiliation was pending for LLB since the session 2006-07 and for the BA-LLB course, since last year.

The biggest obstacle till date was that the college was not having a Dean fromthe Law Faculty. Dr. Anand Paliwal took the charge of Dean, University College of Law on March 3, 2012. Following this, he started making efforts for the permanent affiliation of the two courses.

“The college was under ‘deemed’ status since 2006 and later in the year 2010 the ‘deemed’ status was also suspended by the Bar Council. Now, when all the formalities have been completed we have the permanent affiliation. The Legal Education committee approved the affiliation on Sept 22, 2012, whereas the Bar Council of India followed with the same on Sept 28, 2012”, said Dr. Anand Paliwal, Dean, University College of Law.
