A three days national seminar on Vedic Science has concluded today at Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. The programme was organized by Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan, Ujjain in association with Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (JNRV) University, Udaipur.

A number of scholars, researchers and students from different places have attended this three days seminar which started on 15 Oct.

The seminar had various sessions conducted by speakers who considerably throw light on different subjects of Vedas like Socio Scientific Significance of Vedic Rituals, Structures in Vedic Texts, Medical Science in Vedas, Body and Beauty Cultures in Vedas, Astrology, Astronomy, Psychology and Agriculture in Vedas etc.

In a valedictory function held today at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, Chief Guest Professor Rupkishore Shastri, President of Maharishi Sandipani Rashtriya Ved Vidya Pratishthan, Ujjain said, “In India there are only 400-450 colleges who are teaching Vedas and Vedic Science, but here also only 14 segments of the subject are taught out of more than 30 segments available.”

“The Vedas are treasure of India but today foreign pharmaceutical companies are selling us our own formulated products, as every medicine either allopathic or homeopathic are made by basic content of Vedic Science,” he added.

Prof. Shastri said, “There is an immediate need to uphold the Vedas and all its modules. Indian Govt. should take strong step to amend the education system considering Vedic studies as an integrated part of Indian culture and societies.”

Other prominent guests present today at the function were Professor Divya Prabha Nagar, Chancellor JNRV, Dr. Dheeraj Prakash Joshi and Professor Laxmi Sharma from Rajasthan University, Jaipur.
