The government of Rajasthan said that a vedic board of education will soon be set up in Rajasthan. The aim of the board is to revive the ancient Sanskrit scriptures so as to ensure that the future generations learn about the country’s glorious traditions.

Vedic Shiksha and Sanskar board will be set up in the state within 4 to 5 months for which the committee has submitted its report. The aim is to teach the students the link between Vedic education and Science & Yoga.

The government has been exploring plans to set up a Vedic Board for schools apart from CBSE. There are possibilities to mainstream Vedic education in the school curriculum. This move has come after the proposal of technical education to be imparted in regional languages.

As per information, in January 2019, the Baba Ramdev-run Patanjali group was given the permission by the education ministry to set up a Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB) on ‘Indian knowledge systems’ making it the first private education board to receive the Centre’s nod.
