Importance of having a diverse workforce for gaining competitive advantage and for improving societal well-being has been well established. Business schools play an important role as a feeder into this corporate workforce. A diverse student body helps students in appreciating different values, cultures, thought process and significantly improving the quality of education. 

IIM Udaipur has recently released a video celebrating diversity on campus. The message from IIM Udaipur reads, “It’s the diversity in the students that contribute to the lively atmosphere in the class and atmosphere on campus.”

There has been a conscious effort made at IIM Udaipur for promoting diversity. The emphasis is on getting students across gender, educational background, socio-economic background, work experience among others. This diversity is achieved courtesy admission policy that gives greater weight to students coming from backgrounds that add to diversity of the class.
