Voting for MLSU Student Elections 2014 concludes

All the tactics, promises and future assurances by different parties to woo the students culminated today with the voting for MLSU Student Elections concluding this afternoon.
The voting extravaganza, which started at 8 AM spanned till 1 PM. The counting of votes began after a short break in the respective colleges, whereas counting for Central Student Union took place at the Faculty of Management Studies, MLSU.
Voting booths were earlier set-up at various colleges in the city, including Arts College, Science College, Commerce College, BN Girls College, BN PG College, Meera Girls College and Guru Nanak Girls College.
The average voting percentage stood at 65%, whereas 82% voting was recorded at Commerce College; 76% at Science College, 62% at Law College, 50% at Arts College and 66% at Meera Girls College.
All over, it was a peaceful voting day for Student Elections with remarkable arrangements by the Police Department. Few incidents of Police-Students clash came to light, but they were handled soon and were insignificant.
The results are anticipated to be declared by 8PM today.
