Workshop on GSI Concludes

The two days national workshop on GSI has concluded today at MLSU Science House. The workshop was jointly organized by Computer Society of India (CSI) and Mohan Lal Sukhadia Univerity. The participants learnt various aspects of Geographic Information System and its practical utility.

Workshop on GSI Concludes

The technical session of the workshop was conducted by Alok Porwal from IIT,Mumbai. He discussed about the utility and effectiveness of GSI in the field of forest, mining, electricity supply, water management, disaster management and agriculture.

Practical session was conducted by Rupesh and Chintan from ISRI Ahmedabad. They gave information about GSI arch info software.

On the last day of the two days workshop a quiz competition was organized as a part of their internal assessment. Ram Dayal Singh and Subira Sharma of Hindustan Zinc won the first prize in it.

Azimuddin Khan, president of CSI addressed the closing ceremony of the program. SNA Jaffery in his speech stressed on the necessity of conducting such programmes in future as well.

Senior members of CSI Dr. N.K Parikh, Dr. Manju Mandot and M.L Talesra were also present in today’s programme. Mazhar Hussain, chief organizer of the workshop expressed his gratitude to all for their contribution and support.
