RAID 2 Release Date Announced Wife Changed in ‘Raid 2’, What Did Ajay-Vaani Say?

Udaipur, April 13, 2025: The film Raid, directed by Rajkumar Gupta, was released in 2018. The sequel to this successful movie is coming soon. In the original film, Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn won everyone’s hearts by playing an honest income tax officer named Amay Patnaik. His strong performance will be seen again in Raid 2.

Earlier, actress Ileana D'Cruz played the role of Ajay’s wife in 'Raid'. But this time, Vaani Kapoor is going to replace Ileana. Many questions are being asked on the internet about the role of Ajay’s wife in 'Raid 2'. Ajay and Vaani answered this question at the trailer launch event of the film.

Raid 2’ Trailer Launched in Mumbai

The trailer of ‘Raid 2’ was launched recently at a multiplex in Mumbai. This film is directed by Rajkummar Gupta. This time, actor Riteish Deshmukh will be seen as the villain. Also, Saurabh Shukla, a well-known actor, will play an important role in this film.

Ajay Devgn Talks About Vaani Replacing Ileana

At the trailer launch, Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and director Rajkummar Gupta were present. When asked about Vaani Kapoor replacing Ileana D'Cruz as his wife in the film, Ajay said,

"You see this happen in Hollywood too. After Sean Connery, many actors have played James Bond. People follow the character, so new actors come and go."

Vaani Opens Up On Ileana D'Cruz

When asked if she felt jealous of Ileana, Vaani replied, "I have no jealousy at all. Our off-screen bonding is very good. As an actor, I just try to be honest with the character. I do whatever the writer and director tell me." She added, "This film gave me a chance to present myself in a new way. It was a fresh and exciting experience for me."

Bollywood's Post COVID Struggles

During the event, the topic of Bollywood’s slow business also came up. Ajay said,

"We are all struggling right now. We don't know which film the audience will come for and which one they won't. During the pandemic, people watched a lot of international content on OTT, and their thinking has changed. We are also trying to accept and understand this change."

He further added, "It’s not just Bollywood. Films are facing the same problem everywhere — in South films, Hollywood too. Some films are working and some are not."

Are High Ticket Prices Stopping People?

When asked if expensive multiplex tickets are keeping people away, Ajay replied,

"I don't think that's the reason. If the audience wants to watch a film, they buy the ticket and come. It depends on the film. If the trailer is good, if the songs are liked, the audience will surely come. Everything depends on the content."
