Udaipur, March 12, 2025 - Amitabh Bachchan is set to bid farewell to Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) after hosting the popular quiz show for over two decades. The grand finale of KBC 16 began on an emotional note as the legendary actor acknowledged his journey on the show and thanked everyone who made it special.

During the finale, Amitabh Bachchan expressed his gratitude, saying, "This game, this stage, and I have received much more than I ever wished for, and I continue to receive it. We hope this love remains unbroken forever."

Amitabh Bachchan, who started hosting KBC in 2000 at the age of 57, is now 82 and wants to reduce his workload. Reports suggest that he has asked the channel to find a new host. Although he had initially announced Season 15 as his last, the channel was unable to find a replacement, leading him to continue for another season.

A recent survey by the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) and Rediffusion’s Red Lab revealed that Shah Rukh Khan is the top choice among viewers to replace Amitabh Bachchan as the host. Other popular choices include Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The study was conducted among 768 respondents from Hindi-speaking regions.

SRK hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 3 on Star TV, but it did not receive the expected audience response. Although the season started strong, the show's ratings declined after the hosting change.

However, there is no official confirmation yet on who will take over the hosting duties for the next season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
