Udaipur, May 5 2025: Babil Khan, son of late Bollywood star Irrfan Khan, was praised for his film Logout, which was released on OTT last month. However, this time the young actor is in the news for a different reason.
Without any prior announcement, Babil posted a video on Instagram this morning and made some negative comments about the Bollywood industry. In the video, he was seen crying a lot. Babil said, "Bollywood is a disgusting place. People in Bollywood are very rude."
Babil Khan’s Video Sparks Controversy
He took names of Bollywood stars
It doesn't end there. Babil also mentioned the names of Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Shanaya Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, and Arijit Singh. However, it’s still unclear why he expressed such strong emotions on camera. Many fans believe he was upset over discrimination in Bollywood. After some time, Babil deleted the video and later deactivated his Instagram account. This triggered a wave of discussions on social media.
Family responds with an official statement
Later in the afternoon, Babil’s family released a statement, claiming that his words were "misunderstood" and wrongly presented in the media.
Clarification about his mental health
The statement said, "For many years, Babil Khan has received love and appreciation for both his acting and his openness about mental health. Like everyone, Babil also faces tough times. The video was made during one such difficult moment. We want to assure everyone that Babil is safe and doing better."
He was praising, not criticizing
The family further clarified that Babil didn’t speak negatively about the stars he mentioned. Instead, he was trying to highlight how these artists are helping improve Bollywood.
The statement added, "Babil was honestly appreciating some of his fellow actors. He believes they are making a strong impact on the changing Indian film industry. He mentioned names like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and Arijit Singh out of respect, emotion, and admiration."
Media requested to avoid misjudgment
The family also requested the media not to form opinions based only on that short video, as it doesn't reflect the full context.
