The Bird Park in city's oxygen hub Gulab Bagh is likely to be made open for public by June 2020. The park will have both domestic and international birds.
Since 2016 after the foundation of the Bird Park, the masses were looking forward to watch the winged beauties. The work of the park was expected to be over by 2019. It may be noted that the work has attracted a budget of more than 11 crores. The Bird Park is being made on an area of 5.11 hectares. 11 bird houses or cages were on the agenda out of which 8 are complete. The structure for the remaining 3 cages has been placed.
It has been informed that the park work will complete by April end and then it will handed over to the forest department.The bird park will attract a lot of tourists in the coming season and it is sure to increase the beauty of the park.
9 birds from Australia have been brought and more are expected to arrive soon. 2 of the cages will have non-flying birds. Blue and gold Macau, Greater Sulphur cockatoo, Pink Bourke parakeet, Senegal parrot, Sun Conure, Port Lincoln parakeet, Rock Pebbler, Barraband parakeet and Crimson Wing have arrived in Gulab Bagh.
