January 28, 2025 – Ahmedabad on January 26 hosted a fitting finale to the British rock band Coldplay’s India tour with around 134,000 attendees witnessing a high-energy show that featured spectacular visuals, pyrotechnics and LED wristbands turning the environment into stunning confetti of lights.

While the band thrilled fans with hits like Yellow, Viva La Vida and My Universe, Chris Martin’s patriotic reach-out with Vande Mataram and Maa Tujhe Salaam on the piano sent the fans into frenzy.

The British rock band performed two sold-out shows at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad over the weekend with attendees and social media users alike calling it a show to remember. Thousands of Coldplay fans flew into Ahmedabad for the performance which was live-streamed as well. Concertgoers raved about the shows, which they said was a stark contrast to the earlier Mumbai performances, both in terms of scale and execution.

Social media is still abuzz with fans raving over the Sunday Ahmedabad concert which is being described as nothing short of a visual and musical extravaganza. One wrote, “I attended three shows on this tour—two in Mumbai and one in Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad show was the clear winner in scale, energy, and organisation.”

Another said: “The lights, infrastructure, and crowd are perfectly syncing with the vibe. Not far when artists will prefer this venue over others after this concert.”

“Scale of Ahmedabad very tough to match. Surreal experience. Truly magical,” wrote another attendee.

Businessman Anand Mahindra shared a clip from the Narendra Modi Stadium and wrote: “The moment when the world discovered that India is the new frontier of live entertainment... Coldplay. Ahmedabad.”

The Coldplay tour of India, part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, held five concerts in India. It began with three concerts in Mumbai, including back-to-back shows at DY Patil Sports Stadium. The Mumbai event was disappointing for some who called it the “coldest Coldplay concert ever.”

The high-energy Ahmedabad concert on January 26 became the largest ticketed concert in India. Previously, concerts by Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber had around 50,000 attendees.

"Totally Mind-blowing. Thank you Ahmedabad," Coldplay shared on its official X page. This is the band’s biggest concert ever, surpassing the 83,000 mark from their Sydney show in November last year.
