Udaipur, May 16, 2025: After becoming a mother, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is making a grand return to the big screen. Along with her comeback, there has also been a big change in her salary.
There’s a strong buzz in Bollywood that Deepika has increased her fees in one leap for director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s new film Spirit. In this film, she will be seen opposite superstar Prabhas. Earlier, Deepika and Prabhas were seen together in the much-talked-about film Kalki 2898 AD.
Deepika also appeared as 'Lady Singham' in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, giving fans a powerful glimpse of her role.
She gave birth to her daughter ‘Dua’ in September last year and took a short break from films after that. Now, she is returning with back-to-back big projects. She will also be playing the lead role in the film King, opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Deepika Returns with 'Spirit'
The most talked-about news is that Deepika Padukone may return to the big screen for the first time after becoming a mother with the film Spirit. She is reportedly charging around ₹20 crore for this film. If this is true, it will be the highest fee of her career.
Highest-Paid Actress in Indian Cinema?
Deepika’s ₹20 Cr fee could also make her the highest-paid actress in the history of Indian cinema. Until now, top heroines like Alia Bhatt, Rashmika Mandanna, and Priyanka Chopra have been paid between ₹10 to ₹15 crore per film. Many believe that Deepika’s demand will set a new record.
Her Career Justifies the Price
This amount is not surprising when we look at Deepika’s successful career. She has been the lead actress in several blockbuster films like Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Piku, Pathaan, Jawan, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Her strong acting and screen presence have made her one of the top stars in India.
Shooting of Spirit to Begin Soon
According to reports, the shooting of Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is expected to start between June and July this year. Deepika will star opposite South superstar Prabhas in the film.
