Dilip Kumar was admitted to the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, following complains of breathlessness. Doctors have diagnosed him bilateral pleural effusion and he was put on oxygen support.

Speculation on his condition gave momentum to all kinds of messages on social media. His wife Saira Bano has confirmed that he is stable and that social media messages saying otherwise should be ignored.

Speaking to PTI, Dr Jalil Parker, who is monitoring the 98 year old thespian, said that his oxygen was getting low hence he has been put on support and his condition should imporve in a couple of days.

With a career spanning half a century, Dilip Kumar (Yusuf) was last seen in the 1998 silver screen flick Qila. His first film was Jwar Bhatta (1944).
