Mumbai, Oct 09, 2025: Directed by Keerthiwaran, Dude is set to release on Diwali. Pradeep Ranganathan plays the lead role, and Mamitha Baiju also has an important part. The film’s music is composed by Sai Abhyankar. So far, three songs have been released, and they have received a good response from the audience. Recently, the director shared some key details about the film.

In an interview with Sudhir Srinivasan, Keerthiwaran said, “I worked as an assistant director with Sudha Kongara for eight years. Dude is my first film as a director. The producer liked the story in our first meeting itself. While writing it, I imagined how Rajinikanth would look if he were 30 years old. When the producers asked who should play the lead, I suggested Pradeep Ranganathan. After hearing the story, he agreed to act in the film.”

Story and Details of the Film 'Dude'

The story of Dude is set in the 80s and 90s. The director said he included the experiences of people growing up in the 90s and the Gen X generation to show his own perspective. According to IMDb, the main character, Arvind, is called "Dude." He is a young man who lives a free and carefree life. He does not want to follow rules, take responsibilities, or fall in love. The story shows love, struggles, emotional highs and lows, and family pressures.

The film Dude will release in theaters on October 17. It is directed by Keerthiaswaran and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravishankar. Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju play the lead roles. The movie will release mainly in Telugu and will also be available in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
