A specially crafted Gangaur Boat was revealed yesterday evening at Dudh Talai in a colorful inauguration of the four-day Nav Varsh Mohtsav to mark the Hindu New Year 2070.

The festivities are being organized under the joint association of Akhil Bhartiya Nav Varsh Samaroh Samiti and the newly formed Nagar Nigam of Udaipur.

A 15 feet model of Ganguar Boat was revealed in a customary inauguration that took place yesterday evening at Dudh Talai.

The boat depicts the symbol of tradition and custom of Mewar as Gangaur is one of the most cherished festival of Mewar.  The organizing committee also honored the craftsmen who designed the boat.

Today, on the second day of the festival, Turban Decorating competition will be held at Fateh Sagar where a 2070 meter long turban will be the center of attraction.
