Film Tourism Set to Boom as IIFA 2024 Takes Over Jaipur

Udaipur, March 8, 2025 - The IIFA Awards Silver Jubilee is being organized at Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC,) Sitapura, Jaipur. The event will take place on March 8 and 9. This year’s theme is "Silver is the New Gold." Many Bollywood celebrities have arrived in Jaipur for the grand celebration. On the first day, March 8, the IIFA Digital Awards will be held for the first time. This special event will honor OTT celebrities in different categories. The show will feature performances by Nora Fatehi, Shreya Ghoshal, Mika Singh, and Sachin-Jigar.

IIFA Awards Ceremony on March 9

The main IIFA Awards ceremony will take place on March 9. Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, and Kriti Sanon will perform at the event. Popular singer Honey Singh will also give a live performance.

Film Tourism Market Growing Rapidly

A report by KPMG and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry states that the global film tourism market is expanding. It is expected to grow at a rate of 7.2% annually and reach $110.79 billion by 2028. In 2022, it was valued at $68.1 billion.

Diya Kumari Not Featured on IIFA Posters

Political discussions have also started during IIFA. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari is missing from the event posters and hoardings, even though the tourism department is involved in IIFA. Only the Prime Minister and Chief Minister are featured. On Friday night, Diya Kumari skipped IIFA’s talk show "The Journey of Women in Cinema." However, she had attended the pre-event in Mumbai.

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards is one of the biggest Bollywood award events. It is held in different countries and cities each year. This year, Jaipur is hosting the 25th edition (Silver Jubilee). The event honors outstanding talent in the Indian film industry.
