This will be a big push into India’s streaming platform JioCinema as Reliance is bringing popular Hollywood content on the platform. A deal has been signed by Viacom18 with Warner Bros Discovery Inc. for its streaming platform JioCinema. Popular shows like the upcoming Harry Potter series, Game of Thrones and Succession will soon be available on the JioCinema App.
According to sources, most of Warner’s marquee content will be available on the JioCinema platform. Also, Warner cannot offer most of its popular titles to other Indian platforms like Amazon Prime Video and DIsney Hotstar. “It’s a deep exclusive arrangement which will male JioCinema the house of Warner, HBO in India.”
JioCinema is an OTT platform of Viacom18 and is an entertainment network jointly owned by Reliance Industries and Viacom. Current and future seasons of HBO series such as House of The Dragon, The Last of Us, Succession and The White Lotus, and returning seasons of True Detective:Night Country, Euphoria, Winning Time:The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty and Perry Mason will also be featured in the App. The HBO original series including Chernobyl, The Idol, White House Plumbers, The Sympathizer and The Regime, Big Little Lies and Game Thrones all will be available in the JioCinema App.
Warner Bros movies such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Kids animation like Dexter’s laboratory and Tom and Jerry will also be included.
Max Original series like And Just Like THat, The Flight Attendant, Peacemaker, Premieres such as Dune: The Sisterhood, The Batman Spinoff The Penguin, and Duster, from J.J Abrams and LaToya Morgan as well television series like East New york and Gotham Knights will also become part of the offer.
