Jolly LLB 3’ Faces Legal Hurdle Just a Week Before Release
Sept 13, 2025: Superstar Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 3’ is in controversy even before release. A writ petition has been filed in the Gujarat High Court. The petition says the film shows a judge in a wrong way. The petitioner wants a ban on the teaser and the film. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) will respond to the petition by Tuesday, Sept 16.
The teaser of the film was certified by the CBFC on August 1, 2025. It was released on August 12, 2025, and went viral on social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. The certificate given to the teaser is also being challenged in the petition.
Allegation Against the Film
The petitioner said the film makes court proceedings look funny and tries to hurt the dignity of the court. The teaser shows the judge in an inappropriate way and uses obscene words, which harms the reputation of the judiciary. Even though the film is for entertainment, it should not hurt the reputation of any institution, if further adds. The petition names CBFC, director Subhash Kapoor, and actors Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and Saurabh Shukla as parties in the case.
Gujarat High Court
The Gujarat High Court said the CBFC should look at the petitioner’s arguments and tell when it will take a decision. The CBFC has said it will respond by Tuesday. The next hearing will also be on Tuesday.
