March 16, 2026: The 98th Academy Awards concluded at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with Conan O’Brien hosting a night full of excitement. One Battle After Another was the biggest winner, taking home Best Picture and several other awards. Sinners and Frankenstein also won big in acting and technical categories.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s black comedy about a has-been revolutionary won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, Best Film Editing, and Best Casting.

Acting Highlights and Major Wins

In the acting categories, Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for Hamnet, marking her first Oscar, while Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for Weapons. Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another.

The South Korean musical fantasy KPop Demon Hunters won two Oscars, while Frankenstein also won two awards in technical categories.
