Udaipur, April 16, 2025: According to the decision of the Film Association of India in 2016, Pakistani artists were not allowed to work in India unless they were residents of the country. However, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is set to return to Bollywood after 9 years, overcoming all these restrictions. He will make his comeback on May 9 with a film titled Abir Gulal. Sushmita Sen has spoken about this, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Objection to Fawad Khan's Return
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam, Ashok Pandit, and others have expressed their objection to Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood. They are opposed to Pakistani actors coming to India to work.
Sushmita Sen's Contrasting View
In contrast to the opposition, Sushmita Sen shared her thoughts on the matter. She voiced a different opinion regarding the return of Pakistani actors to India.
Sushmita’s Statement on Art and Creativity
Sushmita Sen recently attended a fashion show in Mumbai, accompanied by her ex-boyfriend Rahman Shawl. When asked about Fawad Khan, Sushmita responded with grace, stating, "Look, I don’t want to talk about boundaries or the issues between the two countries. I don’t know about these things. What I do know is that art never accepts barriers. Art cannot be bound by any boundaries, and it shouldn’t be."
Sushmita’s Belief in Freedom for Artists
She further explained, "We are all born with the freedom to express our creativity. I don’t want any national issues to hinder an artist’s career." When asked about working in Pakistani films, she said, "I always want to work in good films. Where the film is from is not important. What matters is that the character or story is good."
Audience Reaction to Sushmita’s Words
Sushmita's statement struck a chord with the audience, who admired her thoughtful and kind words. One person wrote, "You really answer every question so beautifully." Another wrote, "Respect for you."
